This beautiful painted shaker fitted kitchen for Mr & Mrs Howie from Strathaven, which also included Mistral worktops and Amtico flooring.
Creating their dream kitchen was a huge job, and one that we were very excited to take on. The building was quite old, so we supplied an architect and a structural engineer to make sure this project could be done to the highest quality.
Our design software helped the Howies visualise their ideas for their new kitchen. The house itself was an old sandstone building, which brought with it a unique set of problems. The team started off by opening up the back of the kitchen area to extend it, which required three lintels due to the thickness of the building. We also raised the floor of the kitchen so that the room was now level with the rest of the house, as previously there was a step going down to it.
As well as all this, we blocked up one doorway and window, and moved the sink to the other end of the kitchen while moving the boiler to the opposite side to fit with the new design the Howies wanted. We also installed beautiful new patio doors opening out onto a brand new decking area – this required a building warrant due to the age of the house.
The Howies chose stunning Milbourne Partridge grey units for their new kitchen, complemented by Mistral solid surface counter tops. We installed extra tall units to extend the kitchen right from floor to ceiling, drawing the eye upwards and resulting in a sleek and polished finish. We also supplied and installed all of their beautiful new appliances. The shining new hob and sink were completed with the addition of glass splashbacks.
A beautiful new Karndean floor was fitted, as well as new facings, skirting and windowsills, and the entire kitchen was painted with Farrow & Ball paint.
This was certainly a difficult job, but here at Mulberry Kitchen Designs, we relish a challenge. Overall, the Howies were delighted with their stunning new kitchen. The entire job was fully project managed by us from start to finish, with no shortages or delays.
