Bespoke Kitchen Design

Mr and Mrs McDermott from Cambuslang had spent some time searching for a kitchen that was truly bespoke. However, other companies had failed to offer the services they were searching for, such as an MKD full sound system to be installed with high tech lighting. 

Luckily, here at Mulberry Kitchen Design, when we offer bespoke, we mean bespoke. We were delighted to be able to offer such a service and install the McDermotts’ custom kitchen design. After a meeting with the lovely couple to talk through their preferred kitchen designs, we spent a lot of time together planning every detail to ensure that they got the kitchen of their dreams.

After much deliberation, the McDermotts chose a beautiful Astor Classic kitchen from the Second Nature collection with oak cabinets for a stunning contrast – with more than 150 colour choices it wasn’t an easy decision! Porcelain floor tiles and Star Galaxy granite worktops complemented their choice.

Aside from the kitchen units, the team also installed a Rangemaster range cooker with a matching cooker hood, as well as an American fridge-freezer. Plenty of customisation went into this kitchen also to make the best use of space.  A built-in bin, a custom-built wine rack and Kessebhommer tall pull out larders all added to the space, as well as a bespoke plate rack with a book shelf for the McDermott’s favourite cookbooks.

London Underground wall tiles added some fun to the kitchen, and we matched the light switches to the colour of the doors to contribute to the overall flow of the room. Three beautiful copper pendant lights completed the look.

As well as this, we were thrilled to make their kitchen unique with its own sound system and multi-function coloured lighting, all controlled by Siri from the customer’s iPhone or iPad – perfect for entertaining!

Overall, this was a really great job for the team, with a lot of welcome challenges along the way to help us push the boundaries of kitchen design and bring technology into our kitchens. We were delighted to offer a truly bespoke kitchen that met the needs of our clients.

We had a complete kitchen and utility room re-fit, and we were delighted that this included all the items on our wishlist - big fridge-freezer, range cooker, larder space, and practical space in the utility room. We had very specific ideas on lighting and audio to be included in the kitchen and Stephen and the electricians enthusiastically worked with us to successfully incorporate these.
